Carrick Battles Arteta and Guardiola on Premier League Manager of the Season Shortlist
The Premier League has revealed its six-strong shortlist for Manager of the Season. Michael Carrick joins Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola alongside Brentford’s Keith Andrews, Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola and Sunderland’s Régis Le Bris. Arteta has steered Arsenal to 24 wins and seven draws from 36 matches. The Gunners are five points clear at the top after a 1-0 win over West Ham and sit on the brink of their first league title in 23 years. Guardiola aims for a domestic quadruple after the Carabao Cup success and a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace that cut City’s title gap to two points. Carrick, appointed interim manager in January, has guided Manchester United back into Champions League contention.
