FG Graduates 18 Rescued Chibok Girls, Gives ₦1m Business Grants Each

The Federal Government has graduated 18 rescued Chibok girls from the first batch of its vocational skills programme in Yola. Fourteen were trained in tailoring, while four received catering training. Each beneficiary received a ₦1 million entrepreneurship grant and starter packs. The support package for the 18 graduates is valued at ₦128.2 million. The Minister of Women Affairs said 33 girls in the next vocational-training batch, as well as 33 Chibok girls expected to graduate from the American University of Nigeria in 2026 and 2027, will also receive ₦1 million business grants. Parents of the girls are also expected to receive cash and equipment support. Officials urged the beneficiaries to use their new skills to build independent and successful futures beyond the trauma of their captivity.
