Asaba Content Creator Arrested After Alleged Rape Leads to 20-Year-Old’s Suicide
A 20-year-old woman in Asaba died by suicide after she was allegedly raped by a popular content creator. An activist says the suspect lured her to his home under the pretext of teaching her how to monetize her social media. She had told him she was a virgin and not seeking any relationship. When she resisted his advances, he allegedly assaulted her until she began bleeding. She contacted her twin sister and mother, who sent money for her trip home. Feeling hopeless after another activist urged her to drop the case, she bought poison and took her own life. The Delta State Police Command has arrested the suspect and plans to release further details.
