Oloyede: Parents Behind Exam Malpractice Were My Biggest Pain as JAMB Registrar
Former JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede says the most painful part of his 10-year tenure was seeing parents allegedly organise examination malpractice for their children. Speaking in a television interview after handing over to a new registrar, Oloyede said most UTME candidates were not the main problem. He said some parents attempted to help their wards bypass examination rules, which he described as introducing children to criminality. He also revisited the 2023 Mmesoma Ejikeme result-forgery controversy, saying JAMB had handled several similar cases. Oloyede added that the widely discussed claim of a snake swallowing JAMB funds happened before his tenure and was not a literal incident.
