Helen Prest-Ajayi Vows to Fight Online Smear Campaign After Court Ruling

In a recent video, Helen Prest-Ajayi responded to a Lagos State High Court judgment by accusing paid bloggers of spreading false narratives about her and her late husband’s estate. She said she cannot stand by while her 25-year legacy and her children’s names are dragged through the mud. Describing Dr. Tosin Ajayi as a respected medical icon, she stressed her moral duty to defend his memory and her family’s reputation. She challenged detractors, noting that truth does not need manufactured outrage and expressing confidence that justice will prevail. After Dr. Ajayi’s passing in April 2020, an inheritance dispute split the family. The court declared his first wife the lawful widow, but Prest-Ajayi and her daughter have filed an appeal, citing a prior consent judgment that recognized them both. With the case now before the Court of Appeal, she assured supporters that negative media campaigns will not deter her and reaffirmed her trust in the justice system.

It's interesting that a high court ruling didn't stop online narratives, yet paid bloggers can still influence public opinion about her legacy.

I get the frustration, but is a public vow against bloggers really the best way to handle personal estate disputes?

She could gather documented evidence and issue a clear public statement, then consider formal defamation proceedings if the false claims persist.
