Troops Arrest Two Suspected ISWAP Collaborators in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested two men suspected of collaborating with Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters during a stop-and-search operation on the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari Road in Borno State. The suspects, Adamu Abdullahi, 20, and Buba Ibrahim, 18, were arrested at about 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 9. Troops reportedly recovered ₦131,300 from them. The men reportedly identified themselves as herders but are being investigated over suspected links to terrorist elements and alleged cattle-rustling activities. They have been taken into military custody as investigations continue. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt suspected terrorist logistics, intelligence networks and criminal activity along major roads and rural corridors in Borno State.
