Iheanacho’s Extra-Time Brace Sends Celtic to Scottish Cup Final

Iheanacho’s Extra-Time Brace Sends Celtic to Scottish Cup Final

Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench late in extra time to score twice and secure Celtic’s place in the Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline Athletic. His first goal was a near-post header from a James Forrest cross, followed by a stunning left-foot finish inside the area. Iheanacho said the team battled through a shaky second half and stuck to their plan to press hard in extra time. Looking ahead, he insists the squad will be ready for the final on May 23 and aims to bring the silverware back to Parkhead.

Iheanacho's late impact is nice, but two goals in extra time won't mask deeper issues in Celtic's squad balance.

Celtic should build on this by rotating the squad more often to maintain fitness and uncover hidden bench talents.
