Technical Glitch at JAMB CBT Centre in Omoku Dashes My Daughter’s Exam Hopes

Yesterday, my daughter and I traveled from UNIPORT to the Federal College of Education (Technical) in Omoku for her JAMB CBT exam. We left a day early, booked a hotel, and arrived at the centre by 7:30 a.m. Inside, candidates scheduled for 6:30 a.m. were still waiting due to unresolved technical issues. No exam had started by 2:00 p.m., yet my daughter’s 9:00 a.m. session was also brought in without any solution. Without clear communication, we were sent home and told that JAMB would reschedule our exam date and centre. After all the time, cost, and stress, she did not write her exam. I have been checking the JAMB portal for updates, but none are available. This ordeal has been deeply disheartening and stressful.

How did the centre staff explain the delay, and did they offer any solution for lost exam time at that JAMB CBT venue?

I totally get it. Losing exam minutes like that feels so unfair, and I'd hope they at least offered to extend time.

I doubt they truly addressed lost time; seems like shift-the-blame strategy rather than real solution.

It's odd that a centre with morning sessions still had candidates waiting past their scheduled time without any clear update.

I get the frustration, but could there have been steps taken earlier to confirm the centre's readiness before travelling down?

In future, maybe contact the CBT centre directly a day before exam to verify equipment status and avoid surprises on test day.
