Hakimi Praises Morocco’s Comeback in Thrilling World Cup Win Over Haiti

Hakimi Praises Morocco’s Comeback in Thrilling World Cup Win Over Haiti

Achraf Hakimi was delighted after Morocco fought back twice to beat Haiti 4-2 in their final group match at the FIFA World Cup 2026. An early own goal by Yassine Bounou put Haiti ahead, but Hakimi equalised before half-time. Haiti struck again through Isidor, only for Ismael Saibari to level in stoppage time. In the second half, Soufiane Rahimi and Yassine Gessime sealed the victory. Hakimi admitted Haiti made life difficult and praised his team’s resilience: “It was a tricky game…We managed to win thanks to the way we attacked. Now we need to recover well and prepare for what’s next.”

I agree, that first relentless counter just after Hakimi's equaliser looked like the true turning point.

It's surprising how Morocco conceded early yet managed two strong responses before the final goal sealed the win.

A thrilling win, yes, but Haiti's defense looked shaky throughout—Morocco shouldn't get too carried away yet.

Teams facing early setbacks should focus on quick tactical shifts, just like Morocco did to turn the match around.
