SSANU Threatens Strike as University Renegotiations Stall

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) says its talks with the federal government remain unresolved. Leaders met in Abuja and warned that no binding agreement has been signed. The NEC criticised misleading reports claiming a 30% allowance increase had been approved. It insisted discussions are still ongoing and that fairness and collective bargaining must be respected. SSANU has set an end-of-April deadline for a final deal. It warns that failure to conclude talks by then will prompt nationwide industrial action.
