Violence Erupts in Eti-Osa as Ogun Monarch Allegedly Snubs IGP Probe
The Osobia of Ijebu Makun-Omi in Ogun State, Oba Kazeem Adeshina Salami, is accused of leading violent attacks in a land dispute in Eti-Osa, Lagos. He reportedly ignored an Inspector General of Police investigation and continued to mount pressure on the property owners. Over the weekend, armed men stormed a disputed estate in Sangotedo in search of a property consultant. Failing to find him, they attacked the security guard, Afolabi Yisau, leaving him seriously injured. Cosmopolitan Properties filed multiple petitions since June 2025, detailing assaults, property damage, threats to life and the recovery of illicit substances from a vehicle linked to the suspects. No arrests have been made despite evidence and repeated complaints to the police. The fresh attack has heightened fears among residents and stakeholders about ongoing land-grabbing activities in parts of Eti-Osa. Property owners are now calling for urgent police intervention and prosecution of those responsible.
