Immigration Service Suspends Lagos-Seme Border Comptrollers Over Extortion Probe

Immigration Service Suspends Lagos-Seme Border Comptrollers Over Extortion Probe

The Nigeria Immigration Service has temporarily relieved the senior officers overseeing the Lagos-Seme border commands of their duties. This action follows online allegations that some officers demanded illegal payments from travellers. Spokesperson Akinsola Akinlabi said Comptroller-General Kemi Nandap condemned the reported misconduct as a breach of the Service’s ethics and operational standards. The suspension will remain in place until a thorough investigation is completed. The probe aims to identify all involved personnel and enforce appropriate disciplinary measures without delay.
