Okokomaiko Crash Claims Roadside Hawker’s Life as LASTMA Rescues Seven Injured at Ogudu

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed a roadside hawker died after a Lexus Jeep (SMK 674 HY) crashed at Okokomaiko. LASTMA officers secured the scene, removed the victim, and the police evacuated the remains to Badagry Mortuary for further procedures. In a separate collision at Ogudu inward Toll Gate, a Mazda commercial bus collided with another Lexus Jeep. Seven passengers were injured but quickly rescued by LASTMA and Lagos State Ambulance Service, then taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Ogudu Police provided support at the scene. All vehicles involved in both incidents have been handed over to the police for investigation. LASTMA’s General Manager urged motorists to obey traffic rules, maintain safe speeds, and stay vigilant—especially at night. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and ensuring smooth traffic flow across Lagos State.
