House Committee Praises 2026 UTME Reforms, Demands Fix for Ongoing Glitches
During an oversight visit to selected CBT centres, the House Committee on Education applauded notable improvements in security and coordination for the 2026 UTME. Committee chairman Hon Oboku Abonsizibe Oforji, however, raised fresh concerns over repeated technical faults at locations including the Good Success Centre in Abuja. He warned that these disruptions could undermine candidates’ performance and overall experience. The committee directed JAMB to take immediate and decisive action to resolve the glitches and ensure smooth operations across all testing centres. Lawmakers stressed the importance of proactive measures before exam dates to prevent avoidable stress on students. Highlighting the UTME’s role as a key gateway to tertiary education, they emphasized that no candidate—including working professionals and military personnel—should be disadvantaged by technical failures.
