ICPC Uncovers Two More Alleged Fake Agencies Linked to Adeniyi Adeyemi
The ICPC says it has uncovered two additional fake government agencies allegedly linked to Adeniyi Matthew Adeyemi, who presented himself as Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. According to ICPC Chairman Musa Adamu Aliyu, investigators found that Adeyemi was not appointed by the Federal Government and that the purported council was never created by law or executive order. The commission alleges that an appointment letter and legislative instruments used to establish the agencies were forged. The two newly identified entities are the FCT Investment Promotion Agency and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency. The ICPC says they were allegedly used to open bank accounts and conduct illegal activities. It has recommended prosecution, sanctions for any collaborating public officers and stronger verification controls as investigations continue.
