I am half Nigerian and married with two children. We live in another African country. Our daughter is four and our son is nine months old. I hired a 19-year-old maid through my pastor’s wife to help care for our baby while I ran my salon. One morning my husband suddenly felt compelled to check on the baby. He found the maid unconscious and naked beside our son. They went to the hospital, and she later recovered with no clear explanation. A few months later she disappeared. When she returned, she told our pastor that my husband had forced himself on her, beaten her, and caused her to pass out. He confessed in front of everyone and begged for forgiveness. I feel shattered and no longer trust him. I want to take my children and return home. I cry every day and feel lost. Please, what should I do?
