Buruk Hints Osimhen Could Return Early for Fenerbahçe Clash

Buruk Hints Osimhen Could Return Early for Fenerbahçe Clash

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk says Victor Osimhen is making good progress after his arm injury. The Nigeria international has started running again following the setback in last month’s Champions League game against Liverpool. Buruk feels Osimhen could join the squad for the Gençlerbirliği fixture and might even be ready in time for the Intercontinental Derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26 if his recovery stays on track. Galatasaray currently leads the Turkish Super Lig by four points after a 3-1 win at Göztepe. They face Kocaelispor in their next league game this weekend.

Running drills are promising, but returning to full contact so soon might risk re-injury before a high-stakes match like Fenerbahçe.

Joining the squad doesn't guarantee actual minutes on the pitch, especially when match fitness and tactical sharpness lag.

It would help to limit his minutes at first, maybe bring him on in second half to test his arm under real pressure.
