Highlights of APGA Southwest Expanded Meeting with State Chairmen

Highlights of APGA Southwest Expanded Meeting with State Chairmen

On April 8, 2026, the APGA Southwest Zonal Chairman, Chief Owolabi Suraj, convened an expanded meeting of state chairmen at the Ibadan Secretariat. Leaders from Oyo, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun, Osun and Ekiti attended to review key organisational matters. They discussed progress on the electronic membership registration exercise and agreed on using courier services for submitting completed forms. The group also outlined the composition of electoral panels for upcoming party primaries, including gender and professional representation requirements. Preparations for the proposed Southwest Summit were finalised. Delegates agreed to form five committees—Programme, Mobilization and Logistics, Finance, Publicity and Media, and Strategic—to coordinate the event. Dates between May 20 and May 22, 2026, will be confirmed by the national leadership. The meeting resolved to intensify grassroots mobilization, share courier costs across state chapters, and submit panel nominations by April 10, 2026. Strong collaboration among all Southwest chapters was emphasised to strengthen party structures.
