Ukrainian Drone Strike on Russian Oil Hub Reportedly Kills 13

A Ukrainian drone strike on the Taneco oil refinery complex in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, reportedly killed 13 people, including a child, and injured 75 others, according to local Russian officials. The city is about 1,200 kilometres from Ukraine’s border. Ukraine’s General Staff said the refinery was targeted to weaken Russia’s military capacity. It also reported strikes on a military equipment depot in occupied Donetsk and an artillery storage site nearby. Russian authorities said the drones hit industrial and residential areas, while Moscow claimed Ukraine launched 456 drones across Russia overnight. Tatarstan has declared a mourning period as both countries continue attacks on energy and other critical infrastructure.
