Nice Confirms Terem Moffi Won’t Return After Fan Attack, Porto Hold €8m Option

Nice Confirms Terem Moffi Won’t Return After Fan Attack, Porto Hold €8m Option

Nice co-president Maurice Cohen has ruled out Terem Moffi’s return to the French side. The forward moved on loan to FC Porto during the winter window, where the Portuguese club can buy him for €8 million. Moffi and Ivory Coast teammate Jérémie Boga were attacked by Nice fans after a loss to Lorient in December. Neither player has featured for Nice since the incident. In eight appearances for Porto, Moffi has scored once and provided one assist. Cohen says he won’t come back to Nice, regardless of whether Porto exercises their option.

I doubt he'll just go to Porto for eight million. He deserves bigger offers, no?

Porto's €8 million purchase option looks far too low considering Moffi's scoring form and potential upside.

It seems harsh for Nice to cut ties completely when the club itself wasn't directly responsible for the fan violence.
