Ebonyi Assembly Committee Commends EBOTRANS Reforms, Seeks Stronger Transport Services
The Ebonyi State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Transport has commended the management of Ebonyi State Transport Corporation (EBOTRANS) during an oversight visit to the corporation’s headquarters. The committee said recent reforms have improved transport services, citing the purchase of Sienna vehicles, rehabilitation of grounded buses and the expansion of routes within and outside Ebonyi State. Lawmakers also requested detailed activity reports and urged the management to sustain the progress. EBOTRANS management said it has opened routes serving Iboko, Ikwo, Uburu, Enugu, Ovuduechi and Lagos, while also paying some staff gratuities and maintaining vehicles. The corporation appealed for support to clear outstanding obligations, pay depot rents and establish a modern workshop.
