Timi Frank Blasts UK “Complicity” in Nigeria’s Crisis, Brands Tinubu Visit “Embarrassing”
Comrade Timi Frank, former APC Deputy Nationality Secretary, has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to the UK as insensitive and embarrassing just 24 hours after deadly Maiduguri bombings. He says departing so soon showed a lack of empathy for grieving Nigerians. Frank accused the UK government of complicity by issuing about 600 visas to Tinubu’s delegation and failing to question insecurity or governance issues during the visit. He also criticised King Charles III for not raising concerns over the escalating violence in Nigeria. Drawing a comparison with the United States, Frank warned that such state visits risk legitimising poor leadership and urged Nigerians to stay vigilant ahead of the 2027 elections. He further faulted top security officials for abandoning their posts in a critical moment.
