Lagos’s 1,600 Hajj Pilgrims to Begin Homeward Journey on June 8
Lagos State’s 1,600 pilgrims who took part in the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia will start flying home on Monday, June 8. The flights follow the schedule set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. The first departure is on June 8, with additional lifts on June 10, 11, 12 and a final flight on June 13. Pilgrims are reminded to observe the luggage allowance of two 23 kg bags plus one 8 kg hand luggage and to avoid carrying prohibited items such as water. The Amir-ul-Hajj and Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ibrahim Layode, thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Hamzat and all members of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for their support. He appealed to pilgrims to remain patient and follow officials’ instructions to ensure a smooth airlift.
