Keyamo: Obi Must Apologise to Airport Staff and Pay ₦25,000 Fine After CCTV Footage

As Minister of Aviation, I investigated claims that Peter Obi’s tyres were unjustly clamped. CCTV from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport tells a different story. On July 4, 2026, his police driver parked for 30 minutes in a drop-off zone and left the vehicle unattended. Security staff clamped the tyres as per rules. Obi then intervened, secured the car’s release without paying the ₦25,000 fine. Leaving a vehicle unattended in a restricted zone poses a global airport security risk. An aspiring president must respect the law and ordinary workers. I demand that Peter Obi issue a public apology to airport staff and pay the fine within one week. If he fails to comply, I will direct the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria to take further action.

Do you think the minister's fine serves justice, or is this just political posturing?

It's interesting how CCTV shifted the narrative away from initial claims about Obi's tyres being unfairly clamped.

Are we sure CCTV really changed the story, or did it simply clarify some parts?

Obi and his team should publicly review airport protocols to prevent similar incidents and misunderstandings in the future.
