Iyabo Obasanjo Quits APC, Cites Disrespect by Ogun State Leaders
Prof. Iyabo Obasanjo has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State. She accused party leaders of ignoring her during the consensus that produced Solomon Adeola as the governorship candidate. Obasanjo said she was never consulted before Adeola’s emergence. She also alleged her supporters were barred from the unveiling venue and intimidated, despite her pledge to accept any consensus outcome. Following a promised response to three requests made during a meeting with Adeola, no feedback arrived after two months. She described this as part of a pattern of rejection and disrespect and decided to “leave the APC table where I am not welcomed.”
