ESUT Introduces ₦500,000 Fine for Reckless Driving After Final Exams
Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) says students caught driving recklessly on or around campus after their final examinations will face a ₦500,000 penalty. The directive takes effect from July 31 and targets celebratory driving by graduating students, which the university says has caused repeated injuries. Vehicles impounded for the offence will not be released until the fine is paid. The Registrar said offenders may also face further disciplinary action under the university’s regulations. Deans, department heads, campus security and relevant law-enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure students are informed and the rule is enforced.
