Suspected bandits attacked a Point of Sale shop in Galadimawa, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, at about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Residents said the gunmen arrived on two motorcycles, armed with AK-47 rifles, and opened fire at the shop. Five people were shot. Alhaji Hassan Abdullahi, Yakubu Muazu and Magaji Sarauta were killed, while Aliyu Rufai and Umar Mohammed sustained gunshot injuries and were taken to hospital. The attackers reportedly fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Residents have appealed to the Kaduna State Government to deploy more security personnel, saying displaced people from neighbouring communities have moved into Galadimawa amid repeated bandit attacks.
