Osun APC Rejects Adeleke’s Election Victory, Says It Is Reviewing Results

The All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign director-general in Osun State, Oluwole Oke, says the party will not rush to congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke over the August 15 governorship election result. Oke said the party is reviewing the election process and results before deciding its next step. According to him, the APC disagrees with INEC’s declaration and believes Adeleke did not receive the highest number of valid votes. INEC declared Adeleke winner after he polled 511,067 votes, ahead of APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815 votes. ADC candidate Najeem Salaam came third with 17,180 votes. Adeleke won 19 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11.
