The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Anambra State chapter, organised a Walk4Life exercise in Awka to encourage healthy living and regular physical activity. The walk began at Awka City Stadium and passed through major routes including UNIZIK Junction, Regina Caeli Junction, Aroma Junction and Emeka Anyaoku Boulevard before ending near the State House of Assembly Complex. Participants later took part in guided fitness sessions led by professional coaches. NIPR chairperson Dr. Ngozi Ulogu said regular exercise, healthy eating, adequate rest and routine medical checks can help reduce the risk of hypertension, diabetes, obesity and other lifestyle-related illnesses. Participants called for the initiative to be held quarterly, noting that many workers struggle to find time for fitness activities.

The walk is a positive gesture, but one-off exercises may not change much unless participants are encouraged to keep moving regularly afterwards.
