WAFCON 2026: Cameroon Beat Morocco on Penalties to Reach Final

Cameroon defeated hosts Morocco 3-1 on penalties after a goalless 120-minute WAFCON 2026 semi-final in Rabat, ending Morocco’s bid for a third straight final appearance. Hanane Ait El Haj scored Morocco’s first kick, but Kenza Chapelle, Maryame Atiq and Sakina Ouzraoui Diki missed their attempts. Marie Ngah and Bella Rose converted for Cameroon, while Grâce Davila Mendoua was the only Cameroonian player to miss. Morocco had won their previous WAFCON shootouts against Nigeria in 2022 and Ghana in 2024. Cameroon, who knocked out defending champions Nigeria in the quarter-finals, will face tournament debutants Malawi in Sunday’s final.
