Court Injunction Bars Abia Government from Commissioning Disputed Park and Station
Trademore International Nigeria Limited has cautioned the Abia State government against commissioning a motor park and railway station on land under legal dispute in Ogwumabiri, Umuahia. A High Court granted a perpetual injunction on July 30, 2025, barring any government activity on the site. The Court of Appeal upheld that order on May 6, 2026, dismissing the state’s appeal. Company counsel warned that proceeding would violate the judgment and undermine the rule of law. He has urged the Attorney General to suspend all related activities and ensure full compliance. The unfolding dispute has drawn public attention to the government’s record on court orders and its determination to press ahead with the project.
