I call on the Nigerian government and relevant international bodies to seek a thorough, independent investigation into the reported death of Chika Ibe during a South African police operation at Parksig Villas Complex in Bellville, Cape Town. Nigerians in Cape Town allege that he was brutalised by officers during the operation. These allegations must be properly investigated, and anyone found responsible should be held accountable under the law. I also urge Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Nigerian community leaders in South Africa to pursue justice and support the family. Nigerians abroad deserve protection, dignity and due process.
