COAS Deploys 850 Elite Troops to Restore Order in Plateau State
Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu has ordered fresh reinforcements to Plateau State. Over 850 soldiers will bolster Operation Enduring Peace to stem a recent surge in violence. During a briefing at the Jos Joint Task Force Headquarters, the Army Chief stressed strict discipline and decisive action against criminal elements destabilizing local communities. He also approved new logistics support and advanced equipment for field units. These elite troops, drawn from Abuja and Kaduna formations, now have a direct mandate to protect civilians and secure the state’s borders. Their arrival marks a major escalation in efforts to restore law and order across the Plateau.
