Tragedy on Sokoto River: Over 150 Suspected Bandits Drown as Boat Capsizes

On Saturday evening in the Sabon Gida area of Sokoto State, a vessel carrying a large group of suspected bandits capsized while crossing a local waterway. Local sources told a reporter that the boat overturned suddenly, sending everyone on board into the water. Many of the armed men could not swim, leading to heavy casualties. Preliminary information suggests there were no survivors, though security agencies have not yet confirmed the figures. If these reports are verified, the loss of so many suspected criminals could deal a significant blow to armed groups operating in the North-West region.
