Why I’m Sorry for Urging Nigerians to Back APC

Why I’m Sorry for Urging Nigerians to Back APC — 1 of 4
1 / 4

For some time, I’ve reflected on how my political opinions influenced friends and family to support the APC. I never saw myself as a politician and only took part in a few party activities. Yet, before the 2023 election, I confidently predicted Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rise and defended his chances when many doubted him. When people told me my analysis shaped their decision to vote APC, I stayed silent at first. But worsening insecurity, kidnappings and the daily struggle of Nigerian families made quiet impossible—especially as a father worried about his children’s safety. I believe supporting any government shouldn’t silence citizens. Criticism is a civic duty. I apologize to anyone whose expectations were not met by my influence and call on all leaders to deliver accountability, better governance and real protection for every Nigerian.
