Gunmen Kill Teacher and Kidnap Pupils in Oyo, Schools Shut Down

Oyo State education authorities have confirmed that armed attackers killed a teacher and abducted several pupils at two schools in Ahoro-Esinle, Oriire Local Government Area. The State Universal Basic Education Board has ordered the immediate closure of all primary schools in neighbouring communities — including Surulere, Oyo East, Oriire and Olorunsogo — until security agencies stabilise the area and account for the missing children. Security forces, led by the Commissioner of Police, have deployed a tactical response team and are gathering intelligence to rescue the pupils.
