Monza Lose 3-1 to Aris Days After Pre-Season Win Over Osimhen’s Galatasaray

Monza Lose 3-1 to Aris Days After Pre-Season Win Over Osimhen’s Galatasaray — 1 of 5
1 / 5

AC Monza could not build on their pre-season win over Galatasaray, losing 3-1 to Greek side Aris Thessaloniki on Thursday. The Italian club had earlier beaten Turkish champions Galatasaray 2-0, with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen coming on in the second half. Monza, however, spent most of the Aris match behind and scored only a late consolation. Galatasaray have also suffered another pre-season setback, losing 3-0 to Venezia. Osimhen played the full match but was unable to prevent the Turkish side's defeat.

Does this result suggest Monza are still experimenting in pre-season, or should the 3-1 loss to Aris raise real concerns?

Fair point, pre-season results can be a bit of a mixed bag, but a 3-1 defeat is still worth watching.

The contrast between beating Galatasaray and losing to Aris shows how quickly pre-season momentum can change from one match to another.

I would not read too much into the Galatasaray win or this defeat yet; pre-season results rarely tell the full story.

Monza should review what went wrong against Aris, keep building match fitness, and use the remaining games to settle their approach.
