Ekiti Election: INEC Posts 13.8% of Polling-Unit Results on IReV Portal

Ekiti Election: INEC Posts 13.8% of Polling-Unit Results on IReV Portal

The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded 338 polling-unit results, representing 13.82% of the expected 2,445 units, to its IReV portal in the Ekiti governorship election. Uploads came in at 4:21 p.m. from Polling Unit 013 in Irepodun/Ifelodun LGA. All 16 local governments are now reporting electronically, with Ado-Ekiti leading at 67 results out of 344 units. Ekiti South-West follows with 38 uploads, while Ikole and Oye have recorded 31 and 30 respectively. At the lower end, Ekiti East and Moba have only two and one uploads. Parties, observers and voters are watching the portal closely for real-time transparency. With less than one-sixth of results in, a full picture is still unfolding.

With only 13.8% results posted so far, what impact do you think this pace will have on public trust in the Ekiti election process?

Are there past instances where delayed result postings shook voter confidence similarly?

It seems peculiar that the update log mentions only a single 4:21 p.m. upload from Irepodun/Ifelodun, despite hundreds of units reported.

I'm not convinced delays at this stage indicate any foul play—INEC often has to verify data before releasing large batches of results.

Voter observers should track the IReV portal throughout the night and compare local reports with posted numbers to spot discrepancies early.
