Omituntun Movement Demands Swift Justice After Fatal Ijebu-Jesa Shooting

The Convener of the Omituntun Grassroots Movement has condemned the armed attack in Ijebu-Jesa on Monday night. The incident claimed the life of an innocent minor, Timilehin, and left several others with gunshot wounds. He described the assault as cowardly and barbaric. He extended heartfelt condolences to Timilehin’s family and prayed for strength for all victims, including a local known as “Ibadan” who was recently affiliated with the ACCORD Party. He has urged the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to conduct a thorough, professional, and impartial investigation. He called for every individual connected to this crime to be identified, apprehended, and prosecuted regardless of status. He warned that unchecked violence could threaten the peace of Ijebu-Jesa and neighbouring communities. He appealed to residents to remain calm, support security efforts with credible information, and avoid reprisals while justice is pursued through lawful means.
