Benue: 11-Year-Old Orphan Allegedly Beaten and Tied Up Over Missing ₦1,000
An 11-year-old orphan, Linda Emberga, was allegedly beaten and tied to a bench by her elder sister’s husband in Benue State after being accused of stealing ₦1,000. A resident who said she rescued the girl alleged that Linda was found crying for help in the early hours of Friday, July 31, 2026. The child reportedly sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment while those involved are being investigated. The resident also alleged that the abuse was not an isolated incident. Linda, whose parents reportedly died when she was about four, had been living with her elder sister and her husband.
