NSCDC Rescues 70-Year-Old Shepherd and Two Children from Bandits in Kano
A 70-year-old shepherd, Alhaji Saleh, and his two children have been rescued from the clutches of bandits in Bakin Komau, Dangora community of Kiru LGA, Kano State. NSCDC operatives received a distress call and quickly mobilised from the nearby Dansoshiya Forest. A brief gun duel forced the attackers to flee, abandoning the injured shepherd and his abducted children. Alhaji Saleh is receiving medical treatment, while his children have been reunited with family members. This operation was part of efforts to secure a dam construction project and protect grazing reserves and farming communities. The Kano NSCDC Commandant reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to safeguarding lives and urged residents to share timely information to boost security.
