AE-FUNAI Governing Council Seeks Alake of Egbaland’s Support for Campus Growth
The Pro-Chancellor and Governing Council Chair of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Engr. Dr. Anthony Nebo, led a delegation to the palace of the Alake of Egbaland in Abeokuta. They sought royal backing to accelerate academic and infrastructural development at AE-FUNAI. During the visit, the council formally introduced Prof. Daniel C. Nwachukwu as the university’s 4th substantive Vice-Chancellor. Dr. Nebo highlighted the transparent, merit-based selection process and reaffirmed the council’s commitment to strong leadership and stakeholder partnerships. Prof. Nwachukwu thanked His Royal Majesty for his ongoing support and outlined plans to expand faculties, improve infrastructure, and boost research and innovation through strategic collaborations. In his response, the Alake praised the university’s management, especially its hybrid solar power facility, and pledged continued support for upholding high academic standards and sustainable growth at AE-FUNAI.
