Teen Remanded in Juvenile Home for Alleged Kidnapping and Firearms Possession in Ondo
An Akure Chief Magistrates’ Court has ordered that 17-year-old Abubakar Mohammed Bello be remanded in a juvenile correctional centre. He faces three counts including conspiracy, kidnapping and unlawful possession of firearms. Police say Bello and others abducted two women along the Imeri/Idogun Road in Ido-Ani on April 10. They were armed with two locally made barrel guns when they allegedly seized the victims. Magistrate Odenusi-Fadeyi Olateju granted the prosecution’s request for remand based on the suspect’s age. The case is now adjourned until August 20, 2026, for mention.
