Police in Kebbi have arrested four suspects in a foiled kidnap plot targeting a resident of Jega. The suspects had demanded a N30 million ransom and made anonymous calls after a family friend supplied the victim’s phone number and personal details. Officers tracked down and arrested Muhammad Shafiu (21), Mansur Ibrahim (21), Aliyu Umar (25) and Muhammad Suleiman (23) in Maiyama LGA before the crime could be carried out. The Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation and warned that those involved in kidnapping or extortion will face prosecution.
