PRP Vanguard Rejects Abuja 'Sham' Convention, Warns Against ADC Takeover Bid
At a Kano press conference, Comrade Abdulmajid Yakubu Dauda, national chairman of PRP-Vanguard, denounced an Abuja gathering by a Kaduna-based faction as a sham and breach of the party’s constitution. He insisted that the PRP remains a socialist platform for the masses and cannot be bought or taken over. Dauda accused members of the rival group, linked to the “Kaduna Mafia” and the ADC, of lacking legitimacy and trying to invite outsiders without proper process. He said the leadership dispute is in court and warned against any unity arrangement that would compromise the party’s ideological foundation. He reaffirmed the PRP’s commitment to the founding vision of Aminu Kano and pledged to pursue a socialist alternative to Nigeria’s capitalist system through legal, political, and grassroots mobilisation. He also likened the takeover attempts to “headless chickens” running from party to party and urged caution to those seeking to exploit the party for personal gain.
