Katsina Government Launches Grants and Major Infrastructure Projects for Local Businesses and Farmers

The Katsina State Executive Council approved a Direct Grant Programme to support 62,000 nano, micro, and small enterprises across all 34 local government areas under the “Building Your Future” agenda. The Council also green-lit the construction and asphalting of the Rahamawa–Gidan Shehi Namadi–Inwala Jan Gefe–Ring Road in Katsina metropolis, and approved heavy machinery to rehabilitate and dredge irrigation dams aimed at boosting farming, livestock, and fisheries. Additional measures include procurement of mining equipment for three key sites, free transportation and distribution of rainy season fertilizer to 361 wards, and the establishment of four pilot Khalwa Qur’anic model schools to modernize Almajiri education. These initiatives are designed to strengthen grassroots enterprises, diversify the economy, and improve livelihoods.
