ADC Anambra Chapter Elects Christopher “MacCool” Nwosu as State Chairman

The Anambra State branch of the African Democratic Congress held a consensus congress in Awka on Saturday. Journalist and publisher Christopher “MacCool” Nwosu was unanimously elected chairman alongside 35 members of the new state executive. In his first address, Nwosu pledged to unite the party and deepen grassroots mobilisation across all wards and local governments. He paid tribute to former governor Peter Obi and federal lawmakers Victor Umeh and Tony Nwoye, whose values of humility and integrity he said will guide the ADC’s mission. Preparations for the 2027 general elections will begin immediately. The congress was overseen by a committee from Abuja, though INEC officials were absent due to the party’s recent de-recognition at the national level.

I agree he might focus on grassroots units, but I doubt any bold strategy will truly shift ADC's influence statewide.

It's striking that they achieved a unanimous result in Awka, but consensus votes sometimes mask deeper disagreements.

I'm not convinced a single event in Awka can transform local politics; real change usually needs sustained action beyond a congress meeting.

Members eager for progress should attend upcoming ADC forums and engage with their new state executive to shape actionable policies.
