Ibadan Police Nab Suspect in Gruesome Killing of 6-Year-Old Girl
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested 23-year-old Sodiq Kayode Akorede for the murder of six-year-old Mutiyatu Sunday in Ibadan. Officers received a tip that the girl’s severed head was in the suspect’s possession after the April 11 incident at Adigun Village in Olorunda Ogunsola. An angry mob tried to lynch him, but operatives intervened and secured both the suspect and the exhibit. The suspect reportedly confessed during interrogation and is now in police custody pending transfer to the State CID. The Commissioner of Police condemned jungle justice and urged residents to report suspicious activities to safeguard lives.
