Civic Group Demands Disqualification of APC Aspirant Over Alleged Forged WAEC Credentials
A civic accountability organisation has urged the All Progressives Congress to disqualify a House of Representatives aspirant in the Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo Otin primary. It says the suspect submitted forged academic documents during screening. During a May 19 press briefing, the group’s executive director claimed Bashir Adegboyega Bello emerged as the authentic winner of the primary based on valid delegate votes. It also alleged that party insiders are trying to impose another aspirant despite the proven irregularities. The organisation highlighted discrepancies between the physical WAEC certificate, which recorded seven subjects, and an online result printout listing nine subjects, including two failed papers missing from the printed certificate. The group warned that pushing forward a candidate with such allegations could undermine the party’s credibility. It has called on APC national leadership to recognise Bello as the lawful winner and reject any manipulated results.
