Inside Taaooma’s Creative Process: How She Finds Skit Ideas

Maryam Apaokagi, popularly known as Taaooma, opened up about how she keeps her skits fresh and original. Speaking at the US Mission’s 250th Independence celebration in Lagos, she admitted that she sometimes runs out of ideas. She explained that her mother and everyday African parents spark many of her funniest moments. Taaooma studies their routines and adds her own unique twist to each scenario. The skit maker also prioritises intentional content consumption. She avoids mindless scrolling and chooses only what inspires her creativity. She added that motherhood has had a positive influence on her life and work.
